We used to have a lilac tree in our backyard that would bloom right before summer began. It was like the bell that rang and announced “summer is here!”. Our entire backyard would smell so delicious and it made the most amazing shade for book reading. I didn’t truly appreciate it back then but now, when I decide to purchase a home, that will be the first thing we buy is a lilac tree for the backyard. I’m a creature of nostalgia and traditions. Until then, I get to enjoy the lilacs around town, like this beautiful little lilac patch in Ogden!
